Walking in autumnal peace

At this time of year, more than any other, I feel the draw of the woods. The show of colours is at its most spectacular. The reds and yellows that define the season are all around us, both in the trees and on the ground. The crisp, sunny days with cloudless blue skies really are my favourite. Patches of blue emptiness framed by the many shades of the end of one cycle and the beginning of another.

To walk in peace just to hear the changing taking place is both a pleasure and a privilege. On a dry day, it’s the crunch of the leaves with each careful step, or the ‘tap’ of a wind-blown leaf landing on the ground from its lofty existence. In the deepest silence, it’s possible to hear more, internally and externally.

The beauty that is the duality of stepping away from the world and still being part of it is charm not bestowed on all. Embrace the simplicity.

Autumnal peace at work.

Thirty-something years old. I love running, cycling, photography, nature, being outdoors and wearing shorts all-year-round. Looking for ways and experiences to disconnect from the hum of what we accept as 'living', hopefully inspiring others to do the same! https://www.instagram.com/_br3ath3_/
